Want to Volunteer for Cowtown Celtic?

Those of you who have volunteered for the North Texas Irish Festival in the past will know the drill by now. Cowtown Celtic Festival will be run on basically the same lines.

We have a number of specific areas that run entirely on volunteer effort. We have some contract staff who arrange some things ahead of time, but most of the hard work during the festival is thanks to our dedicated volunteer team.

Some things will change in Will Rogers - and we are still trying to work things out. At this time we believe that the food and beverage will be handled entirely by the catering contractor to the complex, but they will allow us to staff one or two beer booths. Craft vendors, entertainment, instrument checkin, admissions, the childrens area (yet to be named) etc. will all be run by volunteers.

On the right are a series of volunteer areas that we believe we need help with. Below that is a link to our volunteer signup page where you and your family can start the volunteer process.

Volunteer Restrictions

We reserve the right to restrict volunteers in some areas. Nobody under the age of 21 may volunteer to work in a beer booth or transportation. In addition volunteers in the childrens area may be required to undergo background checks.

In all areas we expect volunteers to act responsibly and courteously to visitors, staff and contractors.

Working in all aspects of the festival, volunteers assist us in promoting the Cowtown Celtic Festival and the Southwest Celtic Music Association by delivering a high quality festival that showcases the culture and heritage of the Celtic people, contributing to the well being of the community, and instilling increased pride in the people of Fort Worth.

  • All volunteers, whether new or returning, must submit an application EACH year. Make sure your area preferences are listed on your application, and we will do our best to honor them!
  • You must be able to work a minimum of one full shift (4 -5 hours) on either Friday, April 9; Saturday, April 10; or Sunday, April 11.
  • Due to the popularity of some booths and shift times, it is impossible to honor everyone’s first choice in the assignments. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
  • Volunteers may work only one shift per day; however, you may work one shift on multiple days and we encourage you to do so.
  • If volunteering as a team, each volunteer must complete their own registration, please indicate that you are a member of a team and include the name of your team leader, company or organization.
  • There is an additional form that organizations, corporations, church groups etc. may use to register the team as a whole.
  • Volunteers will be assigned to specific areas and times by the Volunteer Coordinator. As we move closer to the festival, your confirmed assignment will be sent to you. Initially, you are registering your volunteer preferences only. We will attempt to keep teams together as much as possible, but recognize that we have to restrict the number of people in many areas.
  • Volunteers are expected to attend one volunteer orientation session prior to the festival unless travel distance is a problem.
